The Ivorian (Drogba) couldn’t make it to the team of the Decade.

This award is based on top player in various positions in a 4-3-3 formats.

The former and present super eagles skippers John Mikel Obi and Ahmed Musa are the only Nigerians who made the list.

This squad was announced by the organizers (Super Sports) official Twitter handle on Friday, as the Egyptian legend Essam El Hadaey is the shot stoppers of the Decade.

Serge Aurier of Cote d’Ivoire Inter Kalidou Koulibaly of Senegal, Morocco’s Mehdi Benatia and Kwadwo Asamoah of Ghana makes the back four.

While another Senegalese Sadio Mane alongside his joint top scorer in the EPL last season Aubamayang, while Ghana’s Gyan complete the list.

Mikel who is arguably the only player to have played all football competitions accomplished several feats both for the national team and at the club level.

Mikel won 10 trophies with the standard bridge side including EPL league title, FA cup, League Cup, Europa Cup and UCL tittle.

He also play a vital role in Super eagles success in South Africa 2013, AFCON hosted title. He also guide the Olympics eagles to their bronze medal at the Olympics medal.

Mikel won FIFA World Youth Championship Silver Ball, African Footballer of the year runner-up, 2× African Young Player of the Year, 2× Chelsea Young Player of the Year.

Musa, on the other side has won six trophies for Russian team, CSKA Moscow, they are Russian league, Russian Cup and Russian Super Cup and a Saudi Professional League for Al-Nassr.

Musa was top scorer of the Russian Cup in 2013 and made the list of 33 best players of the Russian Championship the same year.

With the Super Eagles, he was part of the 2013 AFCON winning side, scoring in the 4-1 semi-final win against Mali. And in 2014, he was included in the CAF Team of the Year.

He is also the only Nigerian to have scored in two consecutive FIFA World Cups. And Nigeria Premier League Top Scorer in 2010.

The controversy started when the Chelsea legend Didder Drogba couldn’t make the list.

Drogba who enjoys great spell at Chelsea winning Premier league, Champions league and many more trophies for the blues, was not recognized by the Organizers as one of the best player of the Decade.

Drogba is an inspirational player for young and rising Stars and all his exploits were not recognized by the organizers, as Mane, Gyan and Aubamayang sends the Ivorian out of the list.
