Derby County want to stop Leeds United from win the Skybet championship.
Huddersfield Town did the job for them by defeating it’s opponent 2-1 away from.
However Derby County are on the mission to stop Leeds United from winning their next game before they prepare for life in the premier league.
Speaking before Leeds sealed promotion, Cocu said: “We have some pride, we play a home game and try to win every game.
Derby County were also third on the log last season but failed to secure the automatic promotion, also caught spying at opponents training.
“We have to do our duty and put on a maximum performance. We owe it to ourselves and to our fans to try and stop them being the champions in our stadium. Cocu continued.
“Leeds coming, they can be champions, and we have to make sure we put on a good performance because we want the season to end in a positive way, with good results.
“It will not be an easy game, they have a lot to play for, and so we have to be ready.
“The mood is better. We needed a couple of days to straighten our backs (after the defeat by Cardiff) because the play-offs are out of reach for us.
“There was a big disappointment for everybody. Now we have started to focus on the game on Sunday.”
The rivalry between Derby and Leeds down the years is well documented.
The clubs met in the play-offs last season when Derby beat Leeds 4-3 in a two-legged semi-final. There was also the Spygate controversy last season.
Cocu says he is fully aware of the rivalry.
